Almaty readies itself for Olympic torch relay 04/01/2008

ALMATY, March 30) -- Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan, is busy making final preparations for the arrival of the sacred flame, planned for April 2, 2008. This will be the first stop in the Olympic torch' s worldwide relay. This is the first time the Almaty has been included on the torch relay route of any Olympics.

Expansion nearly complete at Paralympic Family hotel 04/01/2008

(BEIJING, March 31) – The renovation project for the Beijing Paralympic Family Hotel is expected to be completed in mid-April, Xinhua reports.
The hotel, Swissotel Beijing, is undergoing a comprehensive expansion meant to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This includes the renovation of 55 rooms and washrooms, as well as the addition of wheelchair ramps and a designated parking lot.
