Customer Relationship Management

CRM, or Customer Relationship Management, is a business strategy designed to reduce costs and increase profitability by solidifying customer loyalty. Everyone has their own definition of what CRM, most , falsely believing that CRM is about technology , a type of software. But, it cannot be further from the truth.

Enterprise Resource Planning

The ERP acronym that stands for enterprise resource planning, a software system that aims to serve as a backbone for businesses is an outgrowth of MRP (materials requirements planning) and MRP II (manufacturing resource planning), older types of manufacturing-specific software that aim to keep the right inventories on hand and the lines humming.

Storage Area Network

Storage Area Network (SAN) is a specialized, high-speed network, consisting of servers and storage assets. Usually connected by Fibre Channel, high-speed transmission technology, SAN is a dedicated, platform-independent network "behind the server." A SAN consists of a communication infrastructure, which provides for physical connections, and a management layer, which organizes the connections, storage elements and computer systems making data transfer extremely secure and robust.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is an alliance between mobile communications and mobile computing companies to develop a short-range communications standard allowing wireless data communications at ranges of about 10 meters.

VoIP

VoIP, or voice over Internet protocol, allows you to send voice communications over the Internet and avoid the toll charges that you would normally receive from your long distance carrier.

Web Services

Web Services represents a new platform where the web is used not only for information exchange but also as a new resource to create value added business services. Web Services are self-contained, self-describing, modular business applications or a set of software standards that enable systems in different companies to interact with each other or securely expose their business logic beyond the firewall over the Internet.

Project Management

Project management is a science in that it relies on proven and repeatable processes and techniques to achieve project success. It is an art because it has a lot to do with managing and relating to people, and requires intuitive skills to apply in situations that are totally unique for each project. A good project management methodology provides the framework, processes, guidelines and techniques to manage the people and the workload. A good methodology increases the odds of being successful, and therefore provides value to the organization, project and the project manager.

Animation

Animation is the illusion of movement. It is like magic. Nothing is real, nothing exists, yet after watching an episode of an animated series like Li?l Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers, we are able to relate to the characters as if they were alive and we can believe in the world where these characters live.

Application Service Provider

Application Service Providers (ASPs) are third-party entities that manage and distribute software-based services and solutions to customers across a wide area network from a central data center.

.NET

A Microsoft operating system platform that incorporates applications, a suite of tools and services and a change in the infrastructure of the company' s Web strategy.

Computer Hardware

Refers to objects that you can actually touch, like disks, disk drives, display screens, keyboards, printers, boards, and chips. In contrast, software is untouchable. Software exists as ideas, concepts, and symbols, but it has no substance.

Java Technology

Java, formerly known as oak, is an object-oriented programming language developed by Sun. It shares many superficial similarities with C, C++, and Objective C (for instance for loops have the same syntax in all four languages); but it is not based on any of those languages, nor have efforts been made to make it compatible with them.

Networking

A network is a collection of connected intelligent computing devices. The connection is not necessarily a fancy one. A connection between two computers by direct cabling is qualified to be a network. By this definition, a workstation which is loaded with a computer, a scanner, and a printer, is not treated as a network.
